Terms of service
Last updated October 20, 2026
The short version: Quizy is free to use for personal and educational purposes. What you put into it stays yours. Flashcards written by AI can contain mistakes, so check them. The software comes as it is, without guarantees.
Agreement
These terms apply to the Quizy app and to quizy.study. By installing or using Quizy, or by using this website, you agree to them. If you don't agree, please don't install or use Quizy. The license shown in the installer is part of these terms.
Your license to use Quizy
Quizy gives you a free, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to install and use the app on any number of computers you own or control, for personal or educational purposes. Quizy remains the property of its owner, and all rights not given to you here are reserved.
What you can't do
- Reverse engineer Quizy in order to build a competing product.
- Remove or hide its copyright notices or the quizy.study branding.
- Sell, rent or redistribute Quizy as your own product, or bundle it with malware or unwanted software.
- Use Quizy to break the law or to infringe other people's rights.
Your content
The files you import and the decks you create belong to you. Quizy stores them on your computer and doesn't claim any rights to them. You're responsible for having the right to use the material you import. For example, check that you're allowed to make study materials from a textbook or a course handout, and be careful about sharing decks made from someone else's work.
AI-generated content
Quizy uses AI to write flashcards, summaries, explanations and answers. AI can misread a document or state things that are wrong, so review cards before relying on them, especially for exams or anything important. Every card links back to its source page so you can check it. Quizy is a study aid. It doesn't replace your teachers, your course materials or professional advice.
Third-party services and components
Quizy AI runs on Groq. If you use your own API key for another AI service, your use of that service is governed by the provider's terms, and you're responsible for any costs on your account with them. Quizy downloads some components from GitHub. Quizy also includes open-source software such as Chromium, Electron and Node.js under their own licenses, which are installed with the app in its licenses folder.
No warranty
Quizy and this website are provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose and non-infringement. We don't promise that Quizy will be error-free, that it will always be available, or that it will keep your data safe from loss. Please keep backups of anything important, such as by exporting your decks.
Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent the law allows, the owner of Quizy isn't liable for any indirect, incidental, special or consequential damages, or for any loss of data, grades, profits or opportunities, arising from your use of Quizy or this website. Some places don't allow these limits, in which case they apply only as far as the law permits.
Updates and changes
Quizy may update itself to fix problems and add features. We may change or stop offering Quizy at any time. We may also update these terms; the date at the top shows the latest version, and continuing to use Quizy after a change means you accept it.
